Hey everyone, I hope January has been good to you despite everything. It looks like 2023 is going to be a tumultuous year.
I thought I would post one of my older works today. Here is a comic I did for a character design class back in the academy of art but is based off a story I developed while I was in Heartland community college. The story is based off my reaction to movies such as “The Incredibles” “Sky High” and “Megamind”. All those movies played on the stereotype of super-hero which were primarily humans with great abilities disguised in color costumes that are, to quote legendary comic artist Bryan Hitch “spray painted onto naked bodies”. I thought that model was somewhat dated for some comic heroes these days are sometimes beings that in appearance might be considered monsters, and costumes range from normal street clothes to military hardware.
New Breed takes place in a world composed of classical, stereotype superheroes when suddenly innocent people, teenagers, are transomed to monstrous creatures with super-ablates. I hope you like it, I might expand on this comic in future work.
